For thirty years Tourism has been my life…my passion! My career in this exciting industry started as a Front Desk Clerk at the State Plaza Hotel while I was studying for my Master´s Degree in Travel Administration and Tourism Development at George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

Immediately after, I started working at the Puerto Rico Tourism Company where I obtained vast experience in identifying and solving problems related to the industry, and establishing and implementing new initiatives, programs, and projects to strenghten our industry. Committed to the growth, progress and success of the tourism industry I assumed the following responsibilities: the establishment of new marketing strategies and the development of new products for the Special Interest Markets (such as Nature and Adventure Travel, Scuba Diving, and Golf among others); the direction of the Research and Development Office, the Blue Flag Program, the Super Host Program, the Ecotourism Programs, the Business Intelligence and Statistics Programs, the Tourism Education Programs, the Air Access Program, the Hotel Star Program, the Tourism Quality Programs, and The “Paradores” and “Mesones Gastronómicos” Programs. As the Deputy Executive Director for Domestic Tourism/ “Turismo Interno” I was responsible of the “regionalización” and “municipalización” of our tourism industry and for expanding and strengthening our tourism offerings. After 22 years of hard work, great experiences, many accomplishments and lots of good friends, I retired from the agency but not from my passion.

For the last 10 years, I have served as an Independent Travel and Tourism Advisor for the Municipality of Caguas, and I have also worked for other municipalities and private and public tourism projects through Global Advisors Group and Mabudeg. I also served as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Puerto Rico Hotel and Tourism Association and Chairwoman of its Allied Committee, and as an advisor for the “Visitors Experience Initiative Steering Committee” of the Foundation for Puerto Rico. I am the co-author of the proposal for the Masters’ Degree in “Turismo Estratégico” with subspecialties in “Turismo Deportivo”, “Turismo Gastronómico” y “Turismo de Médico” of the Universidad Ana G. Méndez and its “Programa AHORA”.

Nowadays, I continue contributing to the development of the tourism industry with the same enthusiasm and desire but in a different and exciting way. This time I am doing it as one of the partners of ACE Media Partners, LLC, and Top10PASS.
